Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Morgan State University as well as a Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Development with a track in Educational Leadership from Towson University. Andrea holds an Advanced Professional Certificate for Administration 1, Early Childhood (PreK-3), and Elementary Education (grades 1-6 & middle school) with the Maryland State Department of Education; an All Levels Principal certification through ACSI; and Core Subjects (EC-6), Core Subjects (4-8) through the Texas Education Agency.
 

Educational Experience
Andrea has 20 plus years of experience in school leadership as well as teaching. She served as the Director of Elementary Academic Services (grades K-5) at KCA, Primary Division Head (grades prek3-1st) for Canterbury Episcopal School and Test Coordinator/SFA Facilitator (grades K-8) for Henderson Hopkins Partnership School in Baltimore, Maryland. She also has many years of teaching experience in grades prek4-2nd grade.  Andrea has been a founding faculty member in 2 charter schools.  She understands the need for charter schools in the educational systems.  She has helped produce great educational programming, community engagement, student excitement, and professional development sessions in every school where she has been honored to serve.  She is also a published poet, with poems in the books, Life Happens…But You Can Finish and God’s Girl Says Yes.  Andrea was also named Teacher of the Year at her campus during her tenure with Baltimore City Public Schools.  Andrea has a love for her families, staff and students that is contagious.  Her passion is building a community where everyone feels welcomed, known and loved while achieving academic excellence to impact the world.
