Joel Dixon

Joel Dixon and his family joined the UME community in 2023.  Joel and his wife, Sarah, have 3 children, 2 of which are attending UME’s Mansfield campus, and live in Arlington. Joel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of London. He has been a teacher for over 16 years and held various teaching and leadership roles in all sorts of schools all over the world, including Spain, Kenya, and the United Kingdom.  He recently moved back to the US to take on the role of Executive Director of a small, private secondary school called Northstar School, located in Arlington. Joel is very much a believer in strong partnerships between parents and school, which was what drew him and his family to UME to begin with. They were excited by the strong character-driven curriculum, college-prep focus and the opportunity to continue to be the dominant influence in their children’s lives. Joel is honored to bring his perspectives and experience in the education sector to the UME board.
